Four-year-old Mateo showed that he has inherited some of his father’s talents with an impressive display in his garden.

And it seems that his four-year-old boy, Mateo, is just as lethal in front of goal.

Recent video shows the youngster digging his heel into the top corner from a distance before darting to a clinical finish.

The clip appears to have been taken in Messi’s back garden at his home in Spain, which houses a mini football pitch.

And Mateo has clearly been watching his old man at work, as he celebrates like Messi after his first goal.

Kissing both hands and lifting them into the air, Mateo makes a beeline for the camera before bringing his finger to his lips in a silencing motion.

His second shot is even more Messi-esque, as he dribbles everything from the midline before shooting low into the corner, and then falls to the ground clutching his face as if he’s been crushed with a late tackle.

One thing eagle-eyed fans will note, however, is that Mateo is not a complete cartoon copy of his father, as he is predominantly right-handed.

And maybe Mateo could even be taking advice from another world-class talent, Cristiano Ronaldo.

Messi’s longtime rival recently suggested that the couple should have dinner together, to which the Argentine responded positively.

Messi told Sport: “Yes, I don’t have any profile with that.

“I have always said that I have no problem with him. We may not be friends because we’ve never shared a dressing room together, but I always see him at award shows and there’s no profile.

“I don’t know if there will be a dinner because I don’t know if our paths will cross for other reasons, each of us has his own life and his own commitments.

“But unofficially I would accept the initiation.”

MayƄe Mateo and Ronaldo’s son Cristiano Jr could join their parents in a quick two-on-two game in the garden to round out the evening’s entertainment.
