There are rumors that superstar Cristiano Ronaldo is about to leave Saudi Arabia to return to play for his youth team in his hometown of Portugal.
The 39-year-old forward currently plays for Al-Nassr Club in the Saudi Pro League in Saudi Arabia.
Since suddenly leaving Manchester United to move to the Middle East, the Portuguese player has scored 58 goals and 15 assists in 64 games.
CR7 did not maintain that impressive form in the national team shirt at EURO 2024, where he failed despite starting 5 matches, resulting in Portugal being eliminated on penalties in the quarter-finals.
After the tournament, the winner of the 5 Ballon d’Ors spent the holidays with his family.
In a recent post on Instagram, Ronaldo shared a photo of himself taking a break after participating in a paddle tennis match.
The photo was posted on an account with 635 million followers, so it was no surprise when fans discovered that the cap next to Ronaldo had the Sporting Lisbon logo.
Ronaldo played for Sporting since he was a teenager before joining Man Utd in 2003. The photo of Ronaldo wearing a cap with the Sporting Lisbon logo caused many people to speculate that he was about to leave Saudi Arabia football for returning to the team as a teenager.
“Ronaldo will return to Sporting and that will be soon,” one person commented.
Someone commented: “Ronaldo is remembering his roots. Sporting Lisbon is where Ronaldo’s heart is.
In addition to Sporting, Man Utd and Al-Nassr, Ronaldo also plays for two big Spanish and Italian clubs, Real Madrid and Juventus.
